Boys & Girls Club Technology Programming

For many years, Whirlpool Corporation has been a corporate sponsor of the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor and their now expanded footprint as the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan. As we look to how the Boys & Girls Club can prepare youth for the future, building a strong foundation of technical skills will be critical.

To achieve this, Whirlpool Corporation along with leadership from Boys & Girls Club partnered with Best Buy to bring a Teen Tech Center to the B&GC Teen Center located across the street from Benton Harbor High School. According to Best Buy, their Teen Tech Centers “provide tech access, training and mentorship to young people in disinvested communities” (source).

The Teen Tech Center opened to students in 2025 and includes space for all types of technical exploration and hands on experiences: music, art, sports, innovation and more!
